David Hill is the author of The Vapors: A Southern Family, the New York Mob, and the Rise and Fall of Hot Springs, America’s Forgotten Capital of Vice. He writes regularly for Rolling Stone and has written for The New Yorker, Harper’s, Esquire, This American Life, and GQ, among others. He serves on the boards of the National Writers Union and The Sidney Hillman Foundation. He was born and raised in Hot Springs and graduated from Hot Springs High School. He is currently writing a book about gambling for Farrar, Straus and Giroux. David Hill will be at Black Ribbon Books in the Arlington Hotel from 4:30-5:30 to sign copies of his book, The Vapors.
