Join Ouachita Wax and Naturals in partnership with the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma for a special hands-on cultural experience celebrating the rich tradition of Choctaw beadwork. For generations, Choctaw beadwork has carried stories, symbolism, and cultural meaning. Traditionally created by Choctaw women, beadwork often featured powerful designs such as the diamond, representing the eastern diamondback rattlesnake—a symbol of strength, resilience, and respect—and radiant starburst patterns honoring the Creator's life-giving light. Today, both men and women continue this treasured tradition, creating unique works that honor the past while expressing personal creativity. During this FREE workshop, traditional Choctaw beading artists from the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma Cultural Center will share the history, significance, and techniques of Choctaw beadwork while guiding participants step-by-step in creating their own traditional beaded rosette to take home.
