Albert W. Ballard

Albert William Ballard, affectionately known as Dub Ballard, passed away on April 30, 2026 at the age of 100 years old. Born on March 10, 1926 in Manila, Arkansas, Dub was the son of the late George and Maudie Ballard. From birth, the family referred to him as AW. When asked his name, he'd reply "A Dub Ya." Hence the name Dub Stuck from there on out.

At the age of 68 years old Dub became a member of the Hot Springs Senior Softball League and continued to play for almost 30 years. At the age of 74 he became known as the Coca-Cola man at the Walmart on Albert Pike and continued for the next 25 years. He was a member of the Church of the Open Door.

Dub is predeceased by his first wife, Lola Mae, and by his sister & brother-in-law, Mildred and Buford Prince.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Jean Ballard; son, Steve (Tammy) Ballard of Conway; daughters, Sheila (Dannie) Stanley of Glen Rose, Regina Ballard of Hot Springs, and, Rhonda (Eddie) Matson of Jupiter, Florida. He was the grandfather of 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at the Church of the Open Door, 700 South St., Hot Springs, 71913. Pastor Teddy Frye will officiate.

Arrangements are by Hot Springs Funeral Home.
