Bertie M. Mullings

Bertie (Mahan) Mullings, 89, of Hot Springs, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026.

She was born in Garland County on July 7, 1937, to Cam and Jeffie Maye Mahan, the youngest of their nine children. Bertie was a 1955 graduate of Lake Hamilton High School. In addition to being a wife and a mother, Bertie worked full time. After retiring from Kroger in 1983, she operated her own businesses and managed hotels.

She was a member of Center Fork Missionary Baptist Church. Bertie was married to Herman Mullings for 64 years until his death in 2019.

She was also predeceased by her parents; five sisters; and three brothers.

She is survived by her three daughters, Jan Overturf (Ray), Viki Castleberry (Doug) and Julie Mullings; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Bertie's family would like to thank the memory care staff at Belvedere Nursing & Rehab for their kind, attentive care of her. A private graveside service will be held to honor Bertie's life.
