Betty Burroughs
Betty Burroughs, age 91, passed away peacefully on Oct. 27, 2026.
Born in Alexandria, Virginia, Betty was the daughter of Luther McCoy and Mary McCoy. She lived a full and vibrant life marked by devotion to her family, steadfast friendships and a generous spirit that touched all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther McCoy and Mary McCoy; her brother, Luther McCoy Jr.; her sister-in-law, Beverly McCoy; and her brother-in-law, Thomas Bass.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Kathy Allison (Carroll) of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, and Joan Bass of Argyle, Texas. She was also blessed with five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; four nieces; two nephews; and her beloved cousin, Peggy Dye.
Betty enjoyed a distinguished career with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, where she worked in the Investment Department. She carried a strong work ethic throughout her professional life and earned the respect of her colleagues.
Known for her warm hospitality, Betty was a wonderful cook who delighted in gathering family and friends around her table. She loved music, singing and spending time playing card games with her girlfriends. An avid traveler, she especially cherished her trips to Hawaii, where she found beauty, relaxation and lasting memories.
Betty's kindness, generosity and love for others will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy lives on through her family, friends and the many lives she touched throughout her 91 years.
A visitation will be held at 10 a.m. at The Presbyterian Kirk in the Pines on Nov. 4, 2026, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. The service will be officiated by the Rev. Will Pierce.
Burial will follow at Perryville Cemetery in Perryville, Arkansas.
Though deeply missed, Betty will be lovingly remembered and forever cherished by those whose lives she enriched with her friendship, warmth and love.
