Brenda J. Smoke
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Brenda Jeanette Smoke, who entered eternal rest on July 3, 2026, at the age of 69.
Brenda faced life's greatest challenges with remarkable courage and grace, remaining strong until the very end. Her resilience, love and unwavering spirit will forever be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Brenda was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Ray Smoke; stepfather, Robert Bowden; her sister, Bobby Lynn Stewart; and her beloved son, David Mooney.
She leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory always: her mother, Betty Bowden; her brother, Bryan Smoke; her daughters, Sherry Zayas, Casey Elliott and Abbagail Brown; her son, Anthony Stewart; her stepson, Michael Washington; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She also leaves behind aunts Barbara Buck, Margret Walker, Paula Jones, Kay Jones, Diane Barsotti and Penny Jones; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and countless friends whose lives she touched.
Throughout her life, Brenda embraced many careers, but the one she loved most was being a flight attendant. She found joy in meeting people, traveling and experiencing the world and she carried that adventurous spirit with her throughout her life.
Above all else, Brenda's greatest love was her family and friends. She treasured every moment spent with those she loved. She found peace and happiness tending to her garden, caring for animals, creating beautiful crafts and traveling whenever she could. She had a generous heart, a kind soul and a gift for making others feel welcomed and loved.
Even in the face of illness, Brenda never allowed it to define her. She met every obstacle with incredible determination and strength, inspiring those around her with her courage and unwavering love for her family.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing that Brenda's love, laughter, wisdom and beautiful spirit will live on through the many lives she touched. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, resilience and unconditional love that will never be forgotten.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever in our hearts.
