Eileen M. Hess

MOUNT IDA — Eileen Mary Hess, 70, of Mount Ida, Arkansas, passed away July 21, 2026, at UAMS in Little Rock, Arkansas. Eileen was born May 22, 1956, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Joseph and Mary E (Mathes) Doyle.

She is preceded in death by both parents; her brother, James Doyle, sister, Deborah Doyle; and father-in-law, Kenneth Hess Sr.

Eileen is survived by her husband, Kenneth Hess Jr.; son, Cody Hess; daughter, May Cowgill; grandchildren, Autumn Cowgill, Erin Cowgill and Wesley Cowgill; brothers, Ralph Doyle (Cara) and Joseph Doyle; aunt, Audrey Hess Eberle; nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2026, at Thornton Funeral Home.

Service will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the Fort Smith National Cemetery at 522 Garland Ave., Fort Smith AR, 72901.

Arrangements were made under the direction of Thornton Funeral Home in Mount Ida, Arkansas.
