HOT SPRING VILLAGE -- Harold "Hal" Blaine Street Jr., passed away Aug. 19, 2026, in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas.

He was born on his father's birthday, Jan. 30, 1932, in Paxton, Illinois, to Harold B. Street Sr. and Mabel (Ellis) Street. He graduated from Minneapolis West High School (1950), Moody Bible Institute (1952), Wheaton College (B.S. 1959), Northern Illinois University (M.S. 1963); and Michigan State University (Ph.D. 1977).

Hal and Donnaline "Dee" Holsteen were married June 21, 1958, in Yarmouth, Iowa. His lifelong career in education began and ended as a teacher and administrator in the Wheaton-Warrenville Illinois Public School District. During the years in between, he was employed at Spring Arbor College in Michigan and National College of Education in Evanston, Illinois.

Deeply devoted to his Christian faith, he taught Sunday­ School and Bible study classes, organized outreach groups and served in church leadership roles. In recent years, he was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Galesburg, Illinois, and The Village Bible Church in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. He also enjoyed playing competitive tennis from high school and college all the way into his 80s. Quick to laugh and always wearing a broad smile, Hal made friends everywhere he and Dee went and kept them for life.

Hal was preceded in death by his wife, Dee, his father and mother, his siblings, Miriam Street-Holsteen (Melborne), Paul Street (Faye) and John Robert Street (Janice).

He is survived by his sons, James Street (Karen) of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Kent Street (Victoria) of Deerfield, Illinois; his grandchildren, Adam Street (Kimberly), Matthew Street, Sean Street, Erin Street, Bailey Street, Caiti Horan (Conor) and Meaghan Castiglioni (Jeremy); and his great-grandchildren, Christian Street, Parker Street, Jackson Street, Camille Horan and Jameson Castiglioni.

Hal's life celebration service will be held at 1 p.m. on Oct. 10, 2026, at the Village Bible Church in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, and will be available for live streaming at: https://www.vbchsv.org/livestream.
