Howard L. Honnoll

Howard Lee Honnoll, 72, passed away July 10, 2026. He was born Dec. 14, 1953, in Houston, Texas, to Othel A. Honnoll and Gladys Mae Gauldin Honnoll.

Howard's family moved to Cross Roads, Arkansas, in Little River County just outside Foreman, when he was 5 years old. Howard was a standout athlete at Foreman High School, where he competed in football and track. He went on to play football at Ouachita Baptist University, earning All-Conference/All-AIC honors as a defensive end in 1975 and 1976 and receiving Honorable Mention All-American recognition. He was later inducted into the OBU Athletic Hall of Fame as a member of the 1975 AIC Championship football team.

Howard served as a teacher and coach at Foreman High School, Arkansas High School in Texarkana and Rison High School. He was especially proud of his girls' track team at Rison, whose performances set state records that stood for more than 45 years, with some still standing today. He loved coaching young athletes and took pride in seeing them grow in confidence, discipline and character. Howard will be remembered for his competitive spirit, his loyalty to family and friends and his lifelong love of athletics. Whether on the field, in the classroom, or supporting Ouachita Baptist University football, he carried himself with pride, toughness, loyalty and commitment.

He was also a founding member of H&T Enterprises International, Inc. H&T Enterprises is a world-wide company specializing in handcrafted furniture construction, design and craftsmanship, with its headquarters in Cross Roads, Arkansas. Howard was a master craftsman with his artistic furniture works being featured nationally in Southern Living Magazine and locally throughout the state on the cover of AY Magazine in 2018. H&T is a company recognized as a strong supporter of Ouachita Baptist University football.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Robert; and his sisters, Barbara and Marilyn.

He is survived by his son, Clint Honnoll of Hazen, Arkansas; two daughters, Lynlee Ann Smith (husband, Justin) of Godley, Texas and Mary McKena Kenney (husband, Drew) of Scottsdale, Arizona; and six grandchildren: Charlie Kenney, Everly Smith, Caysen Lee Honnoll, Benjamin Honnoll, Ella Honnoll, Braylen Allen Williams and his loving companion, Linda Brown of Hot Springs.

Howard and Linda attended Crossgate Baptist Church in Hot Springs. His legacy lives on through his family, friends, the athletes he coached, the teammates he inspired and the many lives he touched.

A visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on July 25, at Madden Funeral Home in Foreman, Arkansas, followed by his service at 11 a.m. Burial immediately following the service at Campground Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ouachita Baptist University Football Team.
