James W. Garner Jr.
James Woodrow Garner Jr., 80, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026, with his loving wife by his side.
Jim was born on Dec. 14, 1945, in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Glenna Garner; his sister, Rebecca Melder; and his beloved daughter, Michelle Garner.
Jim was a faithful member of Crossgate Church in Hot Springs. His faith, family and friends were central to his life.
Jim proudly served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Saratoga. Following his military service, he built a distinguished career with AT&T, retiring after 30 years of dedicated service.
On Feb. 16, 1979, Jim married the love of his life, Debbie. Together they shared 47 years of marriage filled with love, devotion and countless treasured memories.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Garner; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Jim will be remembered for his quiet strength, steadfast character, love for his family and unwavering faith. He touched many lives through his kindness, friendship and willingness to help others.
Pallbearers will be Michael Rima, Brody Rima, Tucker Rima, Spencer Rima, Scott Ellis and Jody Murders.
Honorary pallbearers will be Don Sparrow, Gary Drawbaugh, Gary Chandler, Juan Perez, Joe Smith, Robert Dixon, the members of the CSI LifeGroup of Crossgate Church, Elite Home Health, Elite Hospice and Dr. Scott Anderson.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Crestview Memorial Park Cemetery, with Harry Bates officiating. Arrangements are made by Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.
The family respectfully requests that no flowers be sent. Memorials may be made to Crossgate Church, Treasuring Christ, at 3100 E Grand Ave., Hot Springs, AR 71901.
Jim's memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him.
