Janice A. Rowland

Janice Ann Burkes Rowland, 78, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away May 1, 2026. She was born Aug. 27, 1947, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, to Calvin and Donna George Burkes.

Janice was a loving mother, granny, sister, aunt, and friend to all those who knew her. She was a lifelong resident of Hot Springs, a 1964 Hot Springs High School graduate with former President Bill Clinton, and master of crosswords, trivia, and Jeopardy.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Virginia Burkes, Laverne Burroughs; brothers, Bruce Burkes, Delvin Burkes (Alice), Don Burkes; and grandson, Clayton Rowland.

Survivors include her daughters, Ginger Garrett, Tina Rowland; sons, Britt Rowland, Jason Rowland (Lindsey); grandsons, Joshua Sanders (Tracy), Tyler Rowland (Brooke), Chase Rowland, Shelby Rowland, Jaxon Rowland; granddaughters, Rachel Diggs, Allie Rowland; great-grandsons, Waylon, Sawyer, Cooper; lifelong best friend and sister-in-law, Karon Burkes; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Tasha Neighbors, Johnnie Mae Cheatham and Tammy Leamons Seymour.

Janice will be remembered by anyone who crossed paths with her for her intelligence, laughter, and love. She gave so freely to her family and friends.

A celebration of life in her honor will be held from 2-4 p.m., May 15, 2026, at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home, 155 Section Line Road, Hot Springs.
