John R. Bean
John Ray Bean, age 87, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 11, 2026. He was born on Dec. 31, 1938, in Waldron, Arkansas, to Jim and Mary Bean.
John was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Bonnie Bean; three brothers; and two sisters.
He leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory, including his children, David (Shelly) Bean, Jimmy Bean and Amy (David) Buxton. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family members and friends whose lives he touched throughout the years.
John dedicated an incredible 67 years of service to Wonder Bread in Dallas, Texas, where his strong work ethic and commitment were admired by many. Outside of work, he found great joy in the outdoors and especially loved deer and turkey hunting, along with the occasional fishing trip.
A man of deep faith, John was a self-taught student of the Bible who treasured sharing the Gospel and encouraging others through his knowledge and beliefs. Above all else, he deeply loved his family and treasured every moment spent with them. His wisdom, faith and steadfast love will be remembered always by those who knew and loved him.
A visitation will be held from 5-6 p.m. today, May 14, 2026, at Caruth Village Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2026. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Larry Sabourin, Charlie Edwards, Dillon Buxton, Josh Tillery, Joey Virning and David Buxton.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cancer Society.
