Loyd R. Coker
Loyd R. Coker, 88, of Hot Springs, completed his physical life on Feb. 14, 2026, and is awaiting The Resurrection. Loyd was born Dec. 24, 1937, to John H. Coker and Delcie L. Berry Coker, in Royal, Arkansas.
Loyd joined the Army after graduation where he worked as a cook. He returned to Hot Springs and worked in the meter shop of AR Power & Light, which became Entergy. He retired in 1995, as Senior Meterman.
Loyd is preceded in death by his parents, one son, Kurt Coker, and two sisters, Olean Mobley and Evelyn McKinney.
Loving survivors include his wife of 64 years, Nancy Kindred Coker; two sons, Clinton Coker and Clayton Coker; grandchildren, Jake Coker, Summer Coker, and Finn Coker; and several nieces and nephews.
Loyd made many good friends, but two special ones were James Henry and his late wife, Gladys.
Special thanks to Dierksen Hospice and their "Angels in Scrubs" who took loving care of Loyd, also John Ghita's "Forever Young" Home, and caregiver, Ruth Roberts.
A celebration of Loyd's life will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at Caruth-Hale Life Celebration Center, 2529 Airport Road. Burial will follow at Lowe Cemetery in Royal.
