Mark Petty

Mark Petty, age 71, of Hot Springs, died Thursday, July 16, 2026, at CHI St. Vincent in Hot Springs.

He was born on Christmas Day, 1954, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, to the late Billy Joe Petty and Agnes Lee Keaton Petty. Reared and educated in Magnet Cove, he later attended Henderson State University, and graduated from Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science in the fall of 1978. Mark was a licensed embalmer and funeral director for a number of years, having worked in Benton, Hot Springs and Newport, Arkansas. Mark retired from ABF trucking after 25 years with the company. He was currently employed by Lowe's, where he began working in 1997.

He is survived by his children, Kathryn Jines (Jeremy) of Hot Springs and Markie Petty of McKinney, Texas; a brother, David Petty; a sister, Deandra Louton (Robert) of Hot Springs; two half-brothers and a half-sister; he also leaves behind two grandchildren, Pepper Ng and Olivia Petty; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mark was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Cathy Petty.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. today, July 21, 2026, in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home.

A visitation will precede the service, beginning at 9 a.m. Interment will follow in Magnet Cove Cemetery.
