Norman C. Bennett
Norman Chester "Butch" Bennett passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026, at the age of 84.
Butch was born Jan. 2, 1942, in Driggs, to Mellonee Davis Bennett and Henry Bennett. He proudly served in the United States Coast Guard.
He moved to Hot Springs Village in 1972, where he built a life and career in the masonry business. Starting as a stone mason working with local builders, he later co-founded Bennett Brothers Stone Company with his brother, Gary, earning a reputation for quality craftsmanship and natural stone work throughout Arkansas and neighboring states.
In his younger years, Butch enjoyed bird hunting and fly fishing. Later in life, he loved playing blackjack. He always enjoyed sharing laughs and stories, a good meal, Jimmy Buffett music and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Donald "Duck" Bennett and Noble "Nubbin" Bennett; and recently by his wife of 62 years, Delores "Sissi" Bennett.
He is survived by his daughter, Audrey Bennett (Annelise Houston); his brothers, Gary Bennett (Paula), Greg Bennett (Jan), Roger Bennett (Lisa), and Gaylon Bennett; his sisters, Camilla Gattis (Guy Richard) and Sheila Moore (Gary); as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.
In handwritten notes left for his family, Butch wrote that he wanted to thank God for the life he was given and thanked Sissi, Audrey, and all his family for the love and help they gave him throughout his life.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Caruth Village Funeral Home in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas.
