Odean Isom
PEARCY — Odean Isom, 74, of Pearcy, formerly of Mountain Pine, passed away June 26, in Hot Springs.
He was born Aug. 28, 1951, to Jessie and Lucille Isom in Waldron, Arkansas.
Odean was a member of Mountain Pine First Assembly of God, where he served in the sound booth, van ministry and as a greeter, where he always had a hug and a smile for everyone.
He was a knowledgeable carpenter and mechanic and spent most of his career constructing Bigelow Portable Buildings.
He was a Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed watching his westerns and wrestling. He also liked hunting, fishing, camping and riding the back roads. His biggest joy was his grandchildren and he took pride in spoiling them.
He was preceded by his parents and brothers, Glen and George Isom.
Odean is survived by his wife, Martha of Pearcy; son, Chris and Josie Isom of Mountain Pine; daughter, Lisa and Brady Wright of Bismarck; grandchildren, Katie Isom, Dexter, Malerie Isom; and great-granddaughter, Lilyana Lucille.
He also leaves his brother, Harold Isom, sisters-in-law, Becky, Sharon and Sheila; aunts, Helen Buffington and Dot McConnell; and uncle, Olen Long. He also has many cherished cousins, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Thompson, Andy Thompson, JD Oliver, Roger Lee Chancellor, Alex Delgado, Adam Davis and Dalton Isom.
Honorary pallbearers are Steve Karr, Robert Waite and Carl and Barbara Rowe.
A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, at Caruth-Hale Section Line Road.
The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 3, at Mountain Pine First Assembly of God, with Brother Buddy Leamons and Pastor Mickey Russell officiating.
Burial will follow at Oma Cemetery in Pearcy.
