Patricia P. Patterson

Age 83 Hot Springs
May 16, 2026

Patricia Pigue Patterson, age 83, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed peacefully on Friday, May 8, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Born on Dec. 4, 1942, "Patty" lived life to its fullest, insisting that a glass is always half full. Mrs. Patty grew up in Louisiana and attended Louisiana Tech University, where she met her future husband. She was an artist, loved music and had many hobbies. She knew how to set up a tent and sleep on an island or sit poised at the symphony. Her ability to conform and make the best of any situation was inspiring and amazing.

Mrs. Patty worked in early childhood education for many years, beginning at St. Luke's Episcopal Day School in 1970-1985 and finally retiring in 2015 after starting, developing, and managing the early intervention program for children and families in need at Community Counseling Services. Her professional and natural knowledge of helping others was extensive and truly a God-given gift. From hands-on teaching to speaking before hundreds, she shared that gift with as many people as she could.

Always an adventurer, and never afraid of a challenge, she traveled as much as possible. But her happy places were at the beach or visiting Louisiana, as long as it was with her family.

Mrs. Patty is survived by her children, Angela Patterson of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Melissa Patterson Fontenot (Dennis) of Mandeville, Louisiana, her loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her brother, James "Jimbo" Pigue. She is preceded in death by former husband, George Meredith Patterson, her mother, Gladys Grace Pigue, and father, Otho Thedford Pigue.
