Phuong P. Nguyen

Phuong Pham Nguyen, 73, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away Aug. 21, 2026. She was born July 15, 1953, in Quỳnh Lưu, Vietnam to Hong Pham and Phap Chu.

Phuong and her husband, Hai, immigrated to the United States from Vietnam in 1978 with the sponsorship of the nuns from Monastery of Our Lady of Charity and Refuge. Together, they worked tirelessly to build a successful life and a loving legacy centered around family. Phuong was the true matriarch of her family, always putting the needs of those she loved first and supporting them in every way she could. She enjoyed gardening, especially growing hot peppers, and took great pride in preparing traditional Vietnamese cuisine for her family. Her strength, devotion and love created a lasting legacy that will continue through the generations she leaves behind.

Phuong was preceded in death by her parents, sibling, Chau Pham; granddaughter, Alyssa Nobles and great-grandson, Kane.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Hai Van Nguyen; children, Khanh Nguyen, Tram Nobles (Jason), Bao Nguyen (Jennifer) and Yen Alston (Sean); siblings, Huyen Pham, Tai Pham, Quyen Pham and Hai Pham; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. Rosary service will begin at 6:15 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Khanh Nguyen, Bao Nguyen, Dylan Nguyen, Gavin Nguyen, Khai Nobles, Joseph Pham, Hugh Ta and Tuan Tran.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to St. Mary's Church, Hands of Mary and Dr. Chen and Dr. Burda.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hot Springs Community Resource Center at 109 Hobson Ave., Hot Springs, AR 71901.
