Robert L. Blocker
JESSIEVILLE — Robert Lee Blocker, 82, of Jessieville, Arkansas, passed away on March 22, 2026. He was born on Aug. 15, 1943, in Buckville, Arkansas, to Odie and Dollie (Graves) Blocker.
Robert carried many titles throughout his lifetime — loving son, brother, uncle, friend, devoted husband, and cherished father and grandfather. He married the love of his life, Ruth Murlean (Godwin) Blocker, on Oct. 27, 1961. Together they built a life centered on love and family, raising two children, Manuel Blocker and Robin Blocker Mitchell.
Robert had a passion for repairing things and a natural talent for working with his hands. From the age of 17, he worked as a mechanic, eventually owning his own garage where he became known for helping anyone in need. Over the years, he also worked for Dierks, Weyerhaeuser, Cooper Communities, and the Garland County Road Department.
Robert was a true family man with a personality that could light up any room. He was well known for his storytelling and quick wit. You could always count on laughter and good company when he was around. His stories and memories will be cherished and passed down for generations.
He was also an avid sportsman who loved the outdoors and shared that passion with those around him. Whether enjoying time outside or cheering from the sidelines, he found great joy in life's simple moments.
One of his favorite and most treasured titles was "Papaw." He was a devoted grandfather who never missed a ballgame and cherished every opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his stories, memories, and the love he shared will live on through his family for generations to come, carrying forward a legacy that will never be forgotten.
