Steve Rynders
Steve Rynders, born April 26, 1951, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Lillian Rynders.
He was a proud graduate of Hot Springs High School, where he earned recognition as an Arkansas High School All-Star football player. He continued his football career at Southern Arkansas University.
Steve never met a stranger and was known for his warm, welcoming spirit and strong sense of community. He was the longtime manager and owner of Rynders Auto Supply. After retirement, he worked as a maintenance contractor for Sonic Drive-In locations.
A dedicated runner and walker, Steve faithfully ran 10 miles every Sunday morning before church. He also loved horses and spending time working on the farm, where he found great joy and peace. He had a heart for the homeless who he saw daily on his walks and runs downtown.
Steve is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Lea Ann Rynders, whose life was beautifully intertwined with his through decades of shared memories and unwavering partnership.
He leaves behind his cherished children:
Steve "Deuce" Rynders II and wife Kathy, and daughter Taylor Rea Gigerich and husband Brent.
Steve is also survived by his brother, David Rynders.
Nothing brought Steve greater pride than his role as "Pop" to his beloved grandchildren: Lilly Marie Moritz, Hollis Ann Rynders, Steven Thomas Rynders, Easton Lane Gigerich, Bentley Asher Gigerich, Brinkley Rea Gigerich and Gunner Steven Gigerich. Each of them carried a special place in his heart.
Steve will be remembered for his steadfast love for his family, his quiet strength, and the lasting impact he made on those who knew him.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at Caruth-Hale Life Celebration Center, located at 2529 Airport Road.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the same location.
Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery.
