Sybil Williams-Dowds
Sybil Williams-Dowds, age 88, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away Feb. 6, 2026. She was born on July 1, 1937, in Columbus, Georgia, to Bill Williams and Esther Carter-Williams. After graduation from Jordan High School, she worked at Fort Benning, where she met her husband, Jim, to whom she was married for 56 years.
Sybil was a loving wife and mother who deeply loved the Lord. She attended services at Westminster Presbyterian Church for the 49 years she lived in Hot Springs. During this period, she worked with her husband in his business. She loved to travel and, after retirement, traveled to many worldwide destinations.
She was predeceased by her parents, one sister, Sandra Beumer, and her stepson, James B. Dowds Jr.
She is survived by her loving husband, one daughter, Margaret (Scott) Dowds, and stepdaughters Judy Johnson and Laura Louis.
A memorial service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church today at 10 a.m.
