Vernon Haynes

The arms of Jesus were outstretched to welcome a beloved soul home on the evening of Thursday, March 5. Vernon Haynes was in the presence of his adoring wife, Frances, as he peacefully left her hands and entered the gates of Heaven.

They pledged their love to each other forever on Oct. 9, 1959, and were blessed with three wonderful children: one son, Michael Ray Haynes, one daughter, Ramona Dee Haynes Bonnette, and "THE BABY," William Jeffrey Haynes. In 1983, they gained a bonus Danish daughter, Liselotte (Lotte) Schliemann Hansen, through a foreign student exchange program.

Vernon was patriotic, loved his country, and always admired an unfurled American Flag flowing in the wind. Although he never engaged in combat, Vernon served as an active member of the National Guard for eight years. He was an active member of Central Baptist Church in Prescott, where he and Frances served 22 ½ years in missions.

Vernon's passing is eased by all the wonderful memories that will forever remain. His greatest joy truly was his family. His legacy of love and joy will carry on through his beloved wife of 66 years and 5 months, Frances Haynes, his sons Michael Ray Haynes (Phyllis Haynes) and William Jeffrey Haynes (Denise Haynes). He is preceded in death by his only "darling daughter," Ramona Dee Haynes (Mike Bonnette - who has been, and continues to be, a devoted son).

He was Poppie to his cherished grands. His grandchildren are Stephan, Chase, Colton, Alex, Kalyn, and Heath. His adored great-grandchildren are Grant, Sam, Noelle, Sebastian, Maddox, Madelynn, Tiare, Isaiah, Elle, RJ, Asher, and one more on the way. He is preceded in death by one grandson, Quinton, and one great-grandson, Max.
