Wanda S. Alford

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — Wanda Sue Alford, 85, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, passed away on Aug. 31, 2026. She was born on July 10, 1941, in Smithville, Oklahoma, to Elba and Eula Stone.

Sue was a devoted member of Walnut Valley Baptist Church for more than 60 years. She taught Sunday school and was actively involved in Vacation Bible School. She was especially known for picking up children in the neighborhood and bringing them to VBS, sharing her love of the Lord with many children throughout the years. Sue was the backbone of the family business, Alford Contractors.

Sue was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Harold Alford; her parents, Elba and Eula Stone; her son, Harold Alford Jr.; three great-grandchildren; and two brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by her sons, George Alford, Michael Alford and Tommy (Michelle) Alford; grandchildren, Charlie (Tamara) Alford, Michael (Kerrie) Alford, Jason Alford, Billy (Erica) Alford, Stephanie (Jeff) Askew, Vicki Mutter, Christina (Paul) Lindley and David (Tiffany) Alford; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Linda (Barney) LaRue; sisters-in-law, Mary Stone and Bobbie Kenney.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Ms. Sue's Life will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at Walnut Valley Baptist Church, with Brother Doug Rountree and Brother Teddy Cross officiating.

Pallbearers include Larry Hefley, W.C. Hefley, Shane Breshears, Jerry Castleberry, Peyton Pierce and Eddie Livingston.

Honorary pallbearers include Darren Ford, Maria Wells, Linda Hardin, Patricia Veazey, Larry and Karen Overton and Mark Mitchell.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Gentiva Hospice and Home Instead-Home Health Care for the loving care and support provided to Ms. Sue.
