Kimberly Nielsen

In loving memory of Kim Nielsen, who gracefully departed this world on Sept. 12, 2026, at the age of 69.

Kim was born on July 16, 1957, in Star City, Arkansas, to Basil and Ann Gibbs, who have since passed on. Her journey ended peacefully at home, surrounded by love, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Kim was a devoted mother to her children, Josef Nielsen and Riley Lea; and her husband, Jayce, who will forever cherish her memory. She was also a beloved sister to Tommy Gibbs and Gray Gibbs, who shares his life with his wife, Bobbye. Her legacy of kindness lives on in her grandchildren, Reece and Jenny Lea, who brought her immense joy and pride. She also adored her nieces, Lindley Gray Wisnewski and Dr. Shelly Gibbs, and her nephews, Nicholas Gibbs and Shea Gibbs.

Education was an important chapter in Kim's life, beginning with her graduation from Star City High School and continuing at Ouachita Baptist University and University of Arkansas at Monticello. Her career was marked by hard work and dedication; she owned and operated Tru Value Hardware in Star City and later shared her warmth and guidance as a teacher's assistant.

A devoted member of the Baptist Church, Kim found fulfillment in her faith and community. She was an avid reader, an enthusiastic bridge player and cherished every moment spent with her beloved grandchildren. Those who knew Kim will remember her for her bright spirit, kind heart and unfaltering positive outlook on life. Her beautiful soul touched everyone she met, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.

A service to celebrate Kim's remarkable life will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, at Four Seasons Assisted Living, located at 2408 Military Road, Benton, AR 72015.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Four Seasons Assisted Living for their compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites those who wish to honor Kim's memory to make donations to the American Cancer Society - Breast Cancer Fund, an organization close to her heart.

Kim's legacy of love, kindness and strength will forever be cherished by all who were fortunate to know her. Her life was a testament to the beauty of a well-lived life, and she will be dearly missed.
