Lou E. Dampier

Lou Ellen Dampier, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away on April 6, 2026. She was born on Sept. 17, 1956, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, to Louie and Patty Dampier.

Lou Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Louie and Patty Dampier; Husband, Randy Godhehere; brother, James "Jim" Dampier.

She is survived by her son, Micheal Dampier of Hot Springs; grandchildren, Dylan Dampier of Columbia, Missouri, Dalton Dampier, Abigayle Dampier Pelt (Ryan), Maggie – Rylee Dampier, all of Hot Springs; sister, Susie Dampier Hamilton; brother-in-law, Billy Hamilton; sister-in-law Pat Dampier, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and friends.

Lou was a graduate of Cutter Morning Star, Class of 1974, where she was named Miss CMS, 1974.

She lived in Montgomery City since 1983, where she cooked in various restaurants for over 30 years feeding the masses that passed through. Known for her southern cooking, pies, fudge, fish frys and cookouts on the river where everyone in the community would show up.

She loved her dogs, cats, and other critters but her greatest love was for her grandchildren and family.

A celebration of life and cookout will be held in her honor from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., Saturday, May 2, at 472 Adams Brown Road. Everyone is invited.

We would like to recognize and say thank you to National Park Medical Center's ICU Team on April 3-6 and to the Springs Rehab Center on Park Avenue, as well as Gideons International.
