Marilyn C. Stonehocker

Marilyn Carol Stonehocker, 87, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on March 17, 2026. She was born Sept. 26, 1938, in Oak Park, Illinois to Robert and Bernice (née Bronson) Burton.

Marilyn was a devoted member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir and served as church secretary. She loved being part of the church community, especially potlucks--where her White Chili recipe once won the chili cook-off.

She enjoyed playing cards, attending the local Pocket Theatre, and cooking for those she loved. Marilyn treasured time with her family, whether through phone calls, FaceTime, or visits filled with special traditions like lake days, the Eagle Watch boat tours, and trips to Garvan Woodland Gardens. She also enjoyed life's simple pleasures, like a piece of Dove dark chocolate.

Marilyn is predeceased by her parents; husband, Robert "Tom" Stonehocker; daughter, Jeannine Strejc; son-in-law, Michael Padecky; grandson, Cooper Thomas Heyne; brother-in-law, Ted Lawson.

Loving survivors include son, Robert Thomas Stonehocker Jr.; daughters, Dr. Lori (Stan Heyne) Stonehocker, and Laurie Jean Padecky; son-in-law, Cary Strejc; sister, Jeanette Lawson; grandchildren, Mark (Sami) Padecky, Jessica (Christian) Kilgore, Chloe (Cody) Cushman, Rose Heyne, and Mitchell Strejc.

A Life Celebration for Marilyn will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.
