Norma J.S. Griffith
Norma Jean (Smith) Griffith, 86, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, gained her angel wings late on June 14, 2026.
Norma was dedicated to her family, church and community. She was a proud, strong wife, mother, sister and "Nana" for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Norma attended high school at Mountain Pine, Arkansas, graduating in 1958. It was there she met a handsome, "cool" young man, Robert "Bob" Griffith, marrying him in August of 1958.
After graduation, she worked for the Chevrolet dealership in Hot Springs. In 1970, she attended the Hot Springs School of Cosmetology and shortly after graduation opened her own salon, "Norma's Hair Fashion," where she continued working through 2023, and where her clients turned into lifelong friends. Her clients continue to express their love for her to this day.
She was a lifelong member of New Salem Methodist Church in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Gladys Smith; husband, Robert "Bob" Griffith; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Joe Robertson; and son-in-law, Chuck Russell.
Norma is survived by her sons, Tim Griffith (Sally), Scott Griffith; daughter, Kristie Russell (James), all from Hot Springs; grandchildren, Nikki "Griffith" Radley (Randy), Jake Griffith (Haley), Dylan Griffith (Whitney); great-grandchildren, Milli and Maddie Radley, Wesson and Cooper Griffith, Harper Grace Griffith, and Casen and Haddi Russell; as well as nephews and cousins.
The family is grateful for the care that she received from Dr. Timothy English, Dr. Robert Muldoon and their staff. A special thank you Louise Harrell for helping the family care for her. The family would also like to thank the CHI 2nd Floor nurses for the excellent care they gave her and, of course, her lifelong best friend and "partner in crime," Judy Edwards.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, June 22, at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.
A celebration of Norma's life will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.
