Sarah E. Rice
Sarah Elizabeth Rice raced to the finish line and into the arms of Jesus on Sept. 10, 2026.
Sarah was born on April 26, 1988, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. In her younger years, she spent her time in Mountain Pine, where she loved playing on the mountain behind her childhood home. During her teenage years, Sarah moved to Texas, where she became involved with the rodeo club. Her love for Texas — and her beloved Cowboys — stayed with her throughout her life.
Sarah was vibrant, outgoing and had a genuine love for people. She loved her God deeply and her faith was an important part of who she was. She had a fun-loving spirit and found joy in the beauty and peace of nature. Sarah was a Star Wars enthusiast, always enjoyed being creative and had a way of bringing her unique personality and joy into everything she did.
She later returned to Arkansas, where she dedicated herself to helping others. Sarah loved her Harbor House family and the people she had the opportunity to serve and care for.
On Nov. 5, 2021, Sarah married the love of her life, Justin Rice. Their love was blessed with their daughter, Saylor Makenna, who was born on Dec. 27, 2023.
Sarah also cherished her role as a mother and adored her big brother, Garrett Ault.
Sarah leaves behind a loving family who will miss her terribly: Daddy-Theo and Cynthia Brown; Dad-Carl and Amy Hill; sisters, Tanya Brown, Amanda Perron and Ashley Humphrey; niece, Shailynn Brown; nephews, Bret Jackson, Christian Perron, Brian Marciante, Grant Guarin and Ashton Perron; grandmothers, Carol Jackson and Sue Ellen Wells; Justin's grandmother, Patricia White and Al McCarver.
She is also survived by her uncles, James Brown, Mike (Elaine) Dickson, Tom (Mary) Hill, John Wells, Dwayne (Amy) Wells, Justin (Liz) Wells, Jacob (Morgan) Jackson, Ben (Fran) Havard and Drew (Ashton) Havard; aunts, Doris Singleton and Mary Ann (Stan) Lee; as well as dear cousins and countless friends whose lives were touched by Sarah.
Waiting for Sarah at heaven's gate were her grandparents, Ernie and Betty Hill, Clyde Wells and Stanley and Frances Brown.
Sarah's life was a beautiful reflection of her faith, her love for others, and her joyful spirit. Though she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, her family finds comfort in knowing that she has finished her race and is now resting in the presence of Jesus.
Pallbearers will be: John Wells, Dwayne Wells, Garrett Ault, Matthew Wells, Jacob Jackson, Christian Perron, Brian Marciante and Justin Rice.
Visitation will be on from 2-3p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 24th at Caruth-Hale Life Celebration Center located on Airport Road with a celebration of Sarah's life to follow at 3p.m. Burial will follow the service at Scott Cemetery in Mountain Pine, Arkansas.
