Ann G. Goff

Hot Springs
April 30, 2026

Ann Gilliam Goff passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 28, 2026 at the age of 90.

She was born on Dec. 19, 1935, in Stuttgart, Arkansas to Frank and Velma Holder. She moved to Hot Springs when she was 10 years old and graduated from Hot Springs High School where she was captain of the cheerleaders.

Immediately after graduation, she married Dick Gilliam and started a family. She helped him manage Gilliam Dairy and all the Gilliam property along Highway 7 South. While working in the dairy, she developed a lifelong love of all animals. She was known to bring orphaned ponies, chicken, and a pig into her kitchen to keep them warm. She also worked in the home raising their three children and began to develop her skills as an artist.

Ann was known as a local artist around Hot Springs and displayed much of her work at art shows in the region. She began painting with oils and acrylics and eventually added watercolors to her repertoire. In the 70's, she opened The Calico Cottage and The Round Barn. She sold art supplies and taught painting classes where she shared her love of the craft. She gained a following for her " almost famous" personalized wooden purses. She often gifted her pieces to family and friends, and those lucky enough to receive one, truly cherished it. She continued to paint with watercolors until the end of her life.

After their children were grown, Ann and Dick divorced, and she married John Goff later in life. They split their time between Hot Springs and their cabin on Little Lake in the upper peninsula of Michigan on Lake Superior. Ann loved Little Lake and developed a community of friends there. She spent many hours there playing Hand and Foot and taught her family in Hot Springs the game. She continued to play weekly games until the time of her death.

Ann will be remembered for her big heart, her love of family and friends, and her artistic gift.

She is predeceased by both parents, her first and second husbands, and her sister, Jerry Johnson.

She is survived by her three children: Dianne Parker, Jennifer Outler, and Richard Gilliam, Jr (Vickie), all of Hot Springs. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Trent Outler, Kelly Wright (Lonnie), Matt Parker, and Brittni Terlecki (Lee) all of Hot Springs; two nieces: Jan Johnson of Boulder, Colorado and Melissa Ward of Little Rock; two nephews: Tom Ellsworth of Hot Springs and John Ellsworth of Logan, Utah; as well as three great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the charity of your choice or the any of the local animal shelters.
